Sally Vitale

Sally Ann Vitale departed this life on November 1, 2023, leaving her own special legacy of heart, spirit, and resilience. She was born on July 9, 1962, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Sally loved nature and everything wild and fun. She fed backyard birds and squirrels. She cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, and plants. She was thrilled by season changes and the accompanying small joys like picking out new seed packets. Sally's laughter and singing voice still ring in the minds of many who joined her on walks through parks and neighborhoods, at family feasts and city festivals, and in karaoke and holiday singalongs. She was also a deeply spiritual person, eager to know, be close to, and share God.
Sally was a much-loved mother to her children, Joel Vitale and Abigail Galloway. She was a favorite sister, aunt and friend to many more. Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Phyllis and Phillip Vitale. Phil passed away most recently, and Sally provided loving, in-home care that enriched the final moments of his life.
She had a natural sense of direction and care-taking, which were clearly apparent in her years in the delivery business, and in the way she invited others out on road trips and other adventures around the state and beyond.
Life was not always easy for Sally, including her final ordeal with serious health issues. Through it all, her spirit shined. It still does.
