Sally Wenzel Obituary

Sally A. Wenzel, age 72, of Spencer, WI, died on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at peace.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield with visitation from 9:00 am until the time of service. Chaplain Kristin DeYoung will officiate. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Lunch will follow at Rembs Celebration Center. Burial will be in West Spencer Cemetery, Town of Sherman, Clark County.

Sally was born on April 6, 1953 in Marshfield, WI to Alfred and Rose (Wallner) Conrad. She was a 1971 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School.

She and Robert E. Wenzel were united in marriage on April 30, 1979 in Marshfield, WI. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2010.

Sally worked as a medical transcriptionist at Marshfield Clinic for 36½ years, retiring in April 2008. She also worked at Spencer Bowl, which her husband Robert and his brother Charles owned and operated.

Sally enjoyed bowling, fishing, baking, reading, collecting Waterford crystal and flameless candles, attending her children's school activities, and spending time with family and friends. She also loved and enjoyed all of the dogs in the family.

Sally and Bob were blessed with three children: Kristi Cole (Branden), Trisha Wenzel, and Kurt Wenzel (Leslie), and two granddaughters, Isabella Grace Wenzel and Zoey Faith Wenzel. Sally is also survived by three step grandchildren: Brianna Cole, Alyssa Cole, and Hunter Cole. Sally was very proud of her children and grandchildren. Family isn't always blood, sometimes it's chosen, which is why she is also survived by Travis (Allison) Krall and their children, Bryant, Everett, and Kendall, who lovingly referred to her as "Grandma Sal."

She is further survived by two sisters, Sandra Rieth of Marshfield and Sue (Jeff) Rank of Chili, sisters-in-law, Ardell Specht of Marshfield, Donna Wenzel of Spencer, Lois Wenzel of Stanley, and Karen (Ron) Kupfer of Underwood, MN, brother-in-law, Glen Peters of Dexterville, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert E. Wenzel, her sister Shirley Peters, her brothers Ronald Specht and Gerald Specht, sister-in-law Elizabeth Griepentrog, and brothers-in-law Donald Griepentrog, Wilbur, Gordon, Charles, and Frederick Wenzel, and Bruce Rieth.

Sally will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Many thanks to Compassus Home Hospice Care and House of the Dove for the wonderful care provided.

The family would also like to thank Jeff Hebert, Sally's neighbor, who was always willing to help when needed, along with all other family and friends who helped Sally, especially her sisters and nieces.
