Salome Unruh

Salome Unruh, 98, of Moundridge, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the Moundridge Manor. She was born on August 21, 1926 in Merced, California, to Jacob G. and Tina (Reimer) Loewen.
She was a member of the Gospel Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in Moundridge.
Salome was united in marriage to D. Eugene Unruh on June 14, 1953. He survives after 71 years of marriage.
She was a devoted homemaker.
Salome is also survived by her sons, Franklin (Karen) Unruh of Mertztown, PA, Steven (LeAnn) Unruh of Scio, OR, and Delbert (Jennifer) Unruh of Hazelton, ID; daughter, Jeanette (Keith) Koehn of Fruitland, ID; son-in-law, Howard Giesbrecht of Willows, CA; daughter-in-law, Becky Dyck of Livingston, CA; brothers, Jacob "Jake" (Betty) Loewen of Rio Verde, Goais, Brazil, and Isaac (Rosalie) Loewen of Glenn, CA; sister, Lois Holdeman of Brooksville, MS; 22 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Bonita Giesbrecht; son, Lauren Unruh; brother, Peter Loewen; four sisters, Moselly Kopl, Frances Holdeman, Selma Schmidt, and Rosella Eck; and granddaughter, SueVaun Allison.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Lone Tree Mennonite Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, January 28 at the Moundridge Funeral Home, with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8, at the Old General Offices, 420 N Wedel, Moundridge, KS.
