Salvador was born in Los Angeles, California in an area known as Angelino Heights.
He was born to Amalia and Salvador Morales, immigrants from Padul, Granada, Spain. Salvador was a beautiful and special person. As a child he lived with his sisters Conchita and Betty, and brother Thomas. They lived in an old fort built in 1848. Fort Moore was later declared as an historical site. This is the first of 2 historical sites Salvador lived in. The second is 1300 Carroll Avenue.
Salvador grew up in a happy family with plenty of singing, dancing, and family parties. His parents taught him what love and hard work could accomplish. He learned values that have lasted these many years. He saw his parents caring for elderly neighbors and learned how important it was to be a good citizen. By example he learned right from wrong. Salvador was raised during the Great Depression and World War II.
Salvador was a good Christian, faithful husband, father and friend. He and his wife Betty raised five children (Mike, Loreen, Tracy, Mary, Frank). He loved his family dearly and was married to his wife Betty for 63 years. She preceded him in death in 2017.
A note was found in one of his coat pockets just days after he passed away. This note clearly represents how much he missed and loved his wife Betty.
It reads,
"I am just an old man with a hole in my heart. I am a man who has lost the person who meant more than I can ever express. More than I can bare.
My heart and soul has been lost and it is heartbroken.
Love is a wonderful emotion that only can be appreciated when it is lost. My love is more than I can ever say.
How many times I have said I love you, only my love says I love you more. Oh how much I miss this love.."
Salvador was a very loving and kind person. He was respectful to all and a gentleman through and through. He will be incredibly missed.
