Our condolences to Joan's family. Joan was a wonderful generous person. My uncle Davey was so fortunate to have found her and be with her for several years. After Davey passed my siblings my parents Milt and Boots, and others of our extended family continued to visit Joan at her home. And we attended many of her family get togethers. She treated us all like family. She always made us a delicious soup when we'd drop in for a brief visit. We loved her very much. She will be missed.

I'm so sorry that I didn't get to see Joan before she passed away. I wanted to chat with her about Sweden and Swedish heritage. My father's family came from Sweden also. It would have been a wonderful time together. I knew Joan as the nurse at West Branch Elementary. We became friends and enjoyed talking about our possible family relationship. She was a wealth of information. This is a sad moment in my life. I will miss her. God bless her and her family.

What wonderful memories I have have Joan and how welcoming she was to me as a kid. Such a home full of love & faith. My parents, grandparents and I would visit every summer for many years. We always had so much fun. Fishing, hiking and getting bitten by ants at the abnormally large ant hills near by :). I also created many memories of my own grandparents while visiting Lanse. Joan was a gracious host to a bratty little kid like me but also raised amazing kids herself.(who were happy to give up their bunk beds for me). I will remember Joan with tremendous thanks and wish all the family my best. God bless her and as she walked by faith I do my best to do that same.

What amazing memories I have of visiting her home every summer for many years. So welcoming and fun to be around. The head of a great family environment who raised wonderful kids as well. I loved being outside in the "holler"... hiking, fishing, getting bitten by ants from the unusually large ants hills nearby :) and also creating some of my favorite memories with my own grandparents. As we all get older, we appreciate the things we didn't quite notice as children. I really appreciate the fun family times at Joan's and thank her for being part of my best memories. Love to all the family. God bless & may the Lord shine on you all with happy memories also.

As I write this, with tears flowing, I am remembering my dear friend Joan. It is now the time of the funeral, and I am imagining all the wonderful things people are saying about her. I am thinking about all our times together, and the love and support we shared. I will be forever grateful for our friendship and will love her always.
