FERLITA, Salvatore "Sam," 80, of Tampa, FL. Passed away suddenly at his home on April 18, 2012. He was a lifelong resident, born and raised in Ybor City. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Theresa "Tessie," four sons, Ross (Leslie), Sam (Reba), Richard (Kathy) and Paul (Janet); grandchildren, Nick, Kayte, Marc, Scott, Geoff, Chris, and Amanda. Additionally, he will be extremely missed by countless family and friends, as well as all of his friends at the Tropicana. Sam was a very loving and supporting husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and friend; a true man of honor, integrity, compassion and wisdom. As a General Contractor, he was especially proud of the numerous projects he built at Busch Gardens, including Adventure Island. After retirement, this gave him more free time for hunting, fishing, and travelling with his family and friends, which he enjoyed tremendously. Visitation will take place on Sunday, April 22, 6-8 p.m. at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 E. Lake Av. Tampa, FL. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 23 at 12:30 p.m., burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

I always cried when I was in 1984, 1985 at busch garden.
every morning we had breakfast together with Sam Senior.
I spent a lot of time with Sam Junior and Tony Ippolito.
Sam senior I always think of you because you have always been kind and affectionate.
I hope to return to Tampa I'll bring you a flower from Italy.

Hello, I remember the days spent in Tampa in 1984 and 1985. Breakfast in the village in the mornings, before working in Busch garden. Salvatore senior, a gentleman I will never forget .... and sam Junior almost every night we went with Tony to drink beer. Greetings to everyone and especially Miss Teresa.
