Salvatore Angelo Giambruno, born on June 7, 1937, in Long Island City, NY, peacefully passed away on October 12, 2024 in Kingston, NY. He was the beloved son of the late Anthony Giambruno and Josephine (Cascione) Viscana.
A dedicated professional, Sal attended New York University and went on to a fruitful career. He worked as a systems analyst at American Airlines, where he managed the scheduling of all flights. His remarkable organizational skills later led him to the Metropolitan Opera, where he served as the manager of office services.
Besides his parents, Sal was predeceased by his brother Joseph, his cousin Vito Mangilardi, as well as many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his brother Emanuel Giambruno and his wife Carol, along with their daughters, Barbara-Ann Wisloski, and Kim Gialoris and her husband Gus. He cherished his great-nieces, Markella Giaorlis, Emily Ann Wislosky, and Amanda Grace Wislosky, and held dear to his cousins, Jacqueline Gabriellini and Nicolette Nolan.
He was a devoted member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Kerhonkson and held the honor of being a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4517 in Ellenville.
In honor of Salvatore's generous spirit, memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital.
Sal's legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and unwavering support of those he loved.
Visiting hours will be on Thursday, October 24th from 10:00 - 11:45am at Humiston Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our lady of Lourdes Church, Kerhonkson beginning at 12:00pm.
