Salvatore "Sam" M. Jabour, 68, of South Hampton, NH, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Danielle Cappello Greeley, who stood by his side with unwavering love and strength.
Born in Lawrence, MA, Sam was the son of the late Salvatore and Sheila (George) Jabour. He was raised and educated in
Methuen, MA, and was a proud graduate of Methuen High School. From a young age, Sam demonstrated a remarkable mechanical aptitude-at just 14, he began working on cars, trucks, and motorcycles, a passion that would shape his life's work.
Sam spent many years as a dedicated automotive mechanic, most notably at Trombly Brothers in North Andover where he was known for his skill, reliability, and work ethic. The family and crew at Trombly Brothers was his second family. They stood by and supported Sam every single day. He loved and respected each and every one of them.
In his early years, he worked on the family farm in Methuen, instilling in him a deep appreciation for hard work and perseverance. His fondest memory of those early years was after a long day working with the animals on the farm, he would go up to the farmhouse and sit with his grandfather, Nassar Jabour, and share some Syrian bread and warm milk they just got from the cows. He often reminisced about all the good times and carefree days with his cousins, cruising the back roads and streets of Merrimack Valley. He was an avid motorcyclist, and custom built many bikes over the years.
Sam had the perfect combination of deep spirituality, coupled with his own brand of extreme macho masculinity and he pulled it off so beautifully and so authentically. He had a phenomenal sense of humor and when he entered the room you knew the belly laughs were about to begin.
He had a tough exterior, but those who knew him best saw the gentle, kind-hearted family man beneath-always ready to lend a hand, share a laugh, or offer support.
A true fighter in every sense, Sam faced life's challenges with grit and grace. He was a man who could fix just about anything and was always willing to help others, no matter the task.
Sam enjoyed many things in life. Along with cruising the coast on his Harley, he loved camping, target shooting, coin collecting and antique shopping. Sam and Danielle found and fell in love with their first piece of Fenton Art Glass over twenty years ago and enjoyed collecting various pieces and treasure hunting for that one elusive piece, the Black Satin Elephant.
Sam also enjoyed two great loves in his life. The love for his mother Sheila and the love for his wife Danielle. He called his mother almost every day and between them they always had a deep connection. It was a blessing when his cancer went into remission for a short while as he was able to travel to North Carolina and see her. Once Sheila was able to hold her son and see that he was okay, she was able to finish her journey here and move on to the next.
Sam and Danielle had a deep and powerful relationship. Neighbors remembered when they saw the two of them swinging on their backyard swing, you could always see that you were interrupting two best friends that absolutely could not get enough of each other. They made each other laugh hysterically and pretty much all the time.
In addition to his loving wife Danielle and his beloved Yorkie Manny, Sam is survived by his cherished children, one son, four daughters, and two stepsons-who will carry forward his legacy of strength and compassion. He is also survived by his brother, Bruce Jabour, and his wife Debi of Center Barnstead, NH. He was predeceased by his sister, Deborah Beck. Sam had four grandchildren and three nephews, many cousins and his favorite Aunt Judy.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street,
Methuen, MA. Words of remembrance will be shared at 5:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.
