Salvatore P. Rappo

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Salvatore P. Rappo, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He passed peacefully on March 29th at home, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Sal was born on April 20, 1953, to the late Margaret Rappo. Throughout his 72 years, Sal lived a full, generous, and beautiful life. His baking filled countless bellies, his humor filled countless hearts with laughter, and his genuine, caring spirit gave many people love and hope. He shared the best parts of himself freely, and the world is a warmer place because he was in it.
His legacy as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather will forever be cherished by those who loved him most. His memorable life will continue to inspire all who knew him-a testament to his remarkable resilience and the joy he brought to all around him.
Sal worked at Sam's Club in Middletown, NY, for 25 years, where he met his wife, Jill. Married for 22 years, they built a beautiful family grounded in love, laughter, and strength. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
In addition to his mother, Sal is predeceased by his beloved grandparents, Giovanni and Carmela Farruggio; his Aunt Mary and Uncle Mac McDonald; his Aunt Vicki and Uncle John DiCiurco; and his Aunt Pat and Uncle Willie Derasmo.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jill Rappo, and his sister, Frances Rappo. He is also survived by his children: Kristy Taormina (Daniel), Anthony Rappo (Schuyler), Kristen Smith (Kevin), Salvatore Rappo (Perrin Wilson), Megan Meyer, and his guardian angel, Kelly Ward.
Sal leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren-Emma Smith, Matthew Taormina, Ethan Smith, Hayden Rappo, Claudia Taormina, Camden Rappo, London Rappo, Carson Rappo, and Harper Rappo-as well as many wonderful cousins who were like siblings to him and held a very special place in his heart.
A visitation will be held in his honor on Monday, April 6th at Overhiser Funeral Home in Montgomery, NY from 4PM to 7PM. A funeral mass will be held on April 7th at 11AM at Holy Name of Mary – Assumption in Mongomery, NY. He will be laid to rest at Wallkill Valley Cemetery in Walden, NY. We invite all who knew and loved Sal to join us in celebrating his life and legacy.
