Salvatore F. Trupiano

Salvatore Trupiano, affectionately known to many as Fred passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 5:00 AM at Smithtown Rehabilitation Center, close to his longtime home in Kings Park, where he had resided since 1967.
He was a devoted father to his four children: Anita, Fred (married to Amy), Anthony (predeceased, survived by his wife Lynn O'Keefe), and Christine (married to Keith). Salvatore also leaves behind twelve beloved grandchildren: Franklyn, Ethan, Lauren and her husband Zachary, Sara, Christopher, Anthony, Danielle, Michael, Kelly, Shawn, Dylan, and Matthew.
Salvatore dedicated his life to public service, proudly serving as a firefighter in Brooklyn. His courage and commitment to protecting others led him to become a Fire Marshal and serve on the fireboats in downtown New York City. His unwavering bravery and dedication to his community earned him the respect of his colleagues and the gratitude of those he served.
Salvatore was married to his beloved wife, Dorothy, for over fifty years until her passing ten years ago. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories. Beyond his professional life, Salvatore, known to friends as Fred, enjoyed a vibrant social circle. He found joy in spending time at the Bluff, where he would talk, joke around, and socialize with his friends. He was passionate about sailing, loved playing poker, and was known as the Rummy Cube champion among his friends and family. A history enthusiast, he loved watching the History Channel, exploring culinary delights, and, most importantly,
spending time with his family and friends.
Salvatore Fred Trupiano will be remembered for his wisdom, humor, and unwavering love for those around him. His legacy of kindness, courage, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at Clayton Funeral Home on Monday, June 2, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life.
