Sam Edward Coatney, 40, of Avon Park, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, November 29, 2022 in New Orleans, LA. Born in Fort Benning, Georgia he had lived most of his life in Florida. Sam had a big heart of gold and thought of others before himself. He preceded in death by his brother, Mitchell Strickland, Jr. and grandfather, Dale Smith. He is survived by his mother, Deana (Mitchell, Sr) Strickland; father, Joey Coatney; children, Damian Coatney and Samantha Coatney; brothers, Kevin Coatney, Dylan Strickland, Bradley Strickland and Shane Coatney; sister, Dallas Dermid; step - mother, Laura Dermid; grandmother, Nikki Smith, aunt Debra (Bill) Brucker; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousin, extended family and many friends.
