Sam Hensley

Rogersville: Sam Hensley, age 89, of Rogersville, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 10, 2026. He was a member of Van Hill Freewill Baptist Church. Sam was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a hard worker and was retired from Dodge. Sam enjoyed farming and being with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Shirley Hensley; daughter, Sandy Sizemore; son, Danny Hensley; parents, Logan and Anna Mae Hensley; sisters, Evelyn Rollins, Goldie Rollins, Patricia Hensley and June Hensley; brothers, Gaither Hensley, Don Hensley and Billy Hensley.

He is survived by his sons, James R. Hensley of Chuckey, Bobby Hensley and wife, Lisa of Rogersville, Billy Hensley and wife, Kimberly of Rogersville, Tommy Hensley and wife, Elizabeth of Greeneville; grandchildren, John Hensley, Josh Cutshaw, Jessica Hensley, Sam Hensley, Josh Murray, Emily Sizemore and Ian Sizemore; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Hensley and Cortlin Cutshaw; brother, Joe Hensley and wife, Judy of Rogersville; sister-in-law, Mildred Hensley of Port Clinton, OH; brother-in-law, Danny Bruce Rose of AZ; son-in-law, Mark Sizemore of King George, VA; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation hours will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Friday, February 13, 2026 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home, Rogersville.

Funeral service will be 7:00 P.M., Friday, February 13, 2026 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Pete Smith officiating. Graveside service will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Kite Cemetery. Those who wish to go in procession to the cemetery are asked to meet the funeral home by 9:00 A.M. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
