Funeral services for Sam Lively, age 25 of Tyler, Texas, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler with Dr. Tom Buck officiating. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
Sam passed away on Saturday April 26, 2025, in Tyler. He was born November 23, 1999, in Dallas. Sam has lived in Tyler for the past two years and was previously of Hideaway, Texas. He attended church at Green Acres Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Lindale. Sam was proud to serve as an Officer with the Tyler Police Department beginning on September 5, 2023. In his spare time Sam enjoyed hiking in the mountains, going to the gym, golf, photography, music, running a marathon, any other physical activity, and visiting with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents, David and Gloria Lively, and Carl and Virginia Oliphant.
Sam is survived by his parents, Steve and Bonnie Lively of Hideaway; brothers, Phillip Lively and wife, Breanna of Caddo Mills; Benjamin Lively and wife, Alaina of Lemoore, California; nephew, Peter Lively; and numerous other loving family members and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Phillip Lively, Benjamin Lively, Logan Baker, Grayson Rodgers, and 2 members of the Tyler Police Department Honor Guard.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2025 at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that contributions be made to the Sam Lively Memorial Fund at Southside Bank, Lindale, Texas.
