Sam Matthew Losordo, age 16, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 25th due to a genetic heart condition. Sam is survived by his mother, Jessica Cardoso of Whitman, his stepfather, Carlos Cardoso of Whitman, his sisters Jane and Hazel of Whitman, his maternal grandfather Jack Joubert of Medway, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and an amazing group of close friends. He was preceded in death by his father Phillip Finbar Losordo of Hanover, his paternal grandparents Phillip and Patricia Losordo of Hanover, and his maternal grandmother, Jane (Hayes) Joubert of Rockland.

Sam had two younger sisters and many younger cousins that looked up to him. Sibling rivalry aside, Sam was always loving, kind, and protective of the little ones. He liked to play and help them learn new things. This was especially true when his youngest sister, Hazel, was born two years ago. He loved to pick her up and swing her around and bounce her on the bed while she belly-laughed and loved every second of it. Much to Sam's dismay and his mother's amusement, Hazel had recently learned to open his bedroom door and interrupt his gaming sessions.

Sam grew up and attended school in Whitman, MA, where he had many friends, including his best friend and partner-in-crime, Jayden Wright, and was well-liked and known for being funny, kind, and loyal. He also shared a very special friendship and bond all the way from elementary school with Elijah Fullerton. Like most teenagers, one of Sam's favorite things to do was just spend time with his friends, whether gaming in-person or remotely (talking trash on the headphones the entire time of course), hanging out at someone's house, walking around town, grabbing food, or just being goofy together. He also enjoyed nights playing Rummy at the kitchen table with his mother, Carlos, and Jane. He shared special moments with his mother and Jane staying up all night to binge new seasons of Stranger Things. And he absolutely loved when his mother made his favorite meal for dinner, fried shrimp tacos.

Sam was very creative and loved to draw and sketch. His pieces were bold, detailed, and expressive. He had also recently started playing guitar and was picking it up like a natural. He especially loved playing Ozzy Osbourne, Nirvana, and the Foo Fighters. While Sam was very humble, you could see his pride when he shared a drawing or played a new riff on the guitar. His face would light up and his beautiful blue eyes would twinkle over his passion in music and art. A passion that may have been sparked years ago listening to his mother sing Booby McGee, Puff the Magic Dragon and Stewball by Peter, Paul, and Mary, and Rhiannon when she put him to bed at night. Sam also loved rap and hip-hop music, especially Kendrick Lamar, NAS, and J. Cole. He had recently attended a Kendrick Lamar concert which was one of the highlights of his young life. Sam was one of those very special people born with an artist's heart and soul.

Sam was blessed with a large family on both sides. Countless weekends, summers, and holidays were spent with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Family time was always filled with fun, joy, laughter, and love.

Sam loved his time on Cape Cod boating, fishing, and swimming with Grandy, Papa, his dad, Kristin, Ray, Abby, Leigh and Rachel, and his cousins Liliana, Kien, and Lauren. Many beautiful memories were also made on annual family vacations with his mother, Carlos, aunts, uncles, Jennifer, Jeff, Tricia, Jason, Sharon, Larry, and even more cousins; Cherise, Kaya, Ash, Kyleigh, Hadley, Aminah, and Ibrahim (Guy) in New Hampshire and Maine. Sam also made many happy childhood memories with his beloved Uncle John.

Whether enjoying a swim at the Surfside or Dock Beach, walking the boardwalk in Laconia, riding the waves at Old Orchard Beach, or hiking Diana's Baths in the White Mountains, Sam had so many great times and wonderful moments in his far too-short but love-filled beautiful life.

Visting hours will take place on Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 11:30 am at Saint Francis Xavier Parish, 234 Pleasant Street, South Weymouth, MA.
