Sam was born on September 1, 1931, in Zwolle, Louisiana to Sam Procell and Lillie Mae Longoria Procell and passed away peacefully with his loved ones by his side on Monday, March 11, 2024.

Sam was saved as a teenager in a little country church. He served in the music ministry in several churches and was an associate pastor. Sam loved the Lord with his whole heart. He served in the Army for two years and was a barber for 47 years. He met the love of his life, Margie Brown, in 1954 and had three sons and one daughter. Sam never met a stranger and loved to play games and tell stories. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His family cherished the lunches and dinners where he would lead everyone in a song.

Sam is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Lillie Procell; two sisters, Mary Stanford and Aline Moore; one brother, James M. Procell; and granddaughter, Hannah Parham. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Margie Procell; his three sons, Darrel Procell (Brenda), Doug Procell (Dolly), and Dennis Procell (Cynthia); one daughter, Jackie Parham (Wayne); his 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter; sister, Helen Wallace; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Procell.

Honoring Sam as pallbearers will be Kyle Bruner, Brett Procell, Jimmy Ledford, Wayne Parham, Jared Foster, and Tim Raley.

The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at Lifepath Hospice.
