Sam Schmidt, age 78, of Manhattan, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the Providence Medical Center in Kansas City.
He was born on October 29, 1946, in El Dorado, Kansas, the son of Roman and Edith Schmidt.
Sam is survived by his wife Marla and his son Matthew.
A visitation will be held on Thursday July 17, 2025, from 6:00 until 7:00p.m. at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home in Manhattan. The Parish Vigil with the Rosary will follow the visitation at 7:00p.m. at the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00a.m. Friday July 18, 2025, at the Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Manhattan, with Father Leo Blasi at Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan.
Memorial contributions in memory of Sam are suggested to the Manhattan Catholic Schools. Contributions may be sent in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502.
