Samantha Minor "Sami" Rule, born on April 12, 1976, in Wheeling, West Virginia, was a remarkable individual whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew her. She departed this world unexpectedly on October 30, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion that will linger in the hearts of her family and friends for eternity.
Sami’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with her numerous passions and accomplishments. After graduating from Steubenville Catholic Central in 1994, she pursued a Bachelor's degree, an embodiment of her love for learning and understanding the complexities of life. Sami served diligently in the Army for two years, a testament to her dedication and commitment to serve her community.
Professionally, she blossomed as a nurse, where her nurturing spirit shone through, caring for those in need with her trademark smile and compassionate demeanor. Beyond the hospital walls, Sami displayed her entrepreneurial spirit by managing Dave & Busters locations in South Hills and Concord, North Carolina. Her ability to connect with people and create a joyful atmosphere was unparalleled.
Sami was not only dedicated to her career but also to her family. She took immense pride in the family she raised, always willing to lend a helping hand and open her home to others. She cherished the memories created during family trips and gatherings, embodying the spirit of togetherness and love.
With a personality that was warm and inviting, Sami often brightened the room with her great sense of humor and radiant smile. She had an intellectual curiosity that fueled her interests in science, anatomy, and the intricate workings of the human mind. Sami had a profound love for animals, the water, and a deep connection with the spiritual world. Her hobbies included painting, writing, and dancing in the kitchen as she listened to music—these moments of joy defined her essence.
She is survived by her significant other, Dominic Chappano; her beloved children, Xavier James Paul Doughty and Alexandria Jonas Rule; and her cherished grandchild, Christian Gunner Rule-Novell. Her biological parents, Connie Molinaro and Tim Gayhart, along with Patrick Doughty, the father of her child and best friend, and his daughter, Skylar Kuri, also remain to carry forward her spirit.
Sami is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Charlotte (Freeman) Minor, who undoubtedly shaped the loving person she became. Her proudest accomplishments, including her work in cheer-leading and coaching, her educational pursuits, and her unwavering support of the Chapanos and her children, are a testament to her courage and spirit of overcoming her own fears.
