Samiha Mohareb

March 10, 1935 – July 28, 2025

Samiha Mohareb passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the age of 90. She was a much-loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a woman who truly lived ahead of her time.

Born in Asyoot, Egypt, on March 10, 1935, Samiha made a lasting impact both in her family and in her community. She was married to the late Dr. Fouad Zaki, and together they raised three children-Hoda Kaddis (with husband Safa), Sami Zaki, and Hanaa Nessim (with husband Mourad).

Samiha came to know and love the Lord at a young age. Her faith was central to her life, and she served faithfully in the Egyptian church in Mansoura for many years in different roles. After moving to Georgia, she continued her quiet service, knitting and crocheting hats and scarves for troops and sharing God's love through simple, generous acts. Her personal outreach to friends and neighbors reflected a heart for others and a deep trust in the Lord.

Samiha graduated from medical school in 1959 and went on to specialize in pediatric cardiology. She founded the pediatric cardiology department at the University of Mansoura, where she worked as a professor and cared deeply for her patients and students. She also traveled to France to study, bringing back knowledge and experience that helped shape the medical community in Egypt.

She loved learning and never stopped growing-she taught herself French, picked up computer skills on her own, and wasn't afraid to try something new. She had a passion for travel, and also loved long walks with her friends. She enjoyed crafts and sewing, and made beautiful outfits for her daughters by hand.

Samiha wasn't just ahead of her time-she set the pace. She was the first woman to drive a car in the town of Mansoura, renovated and redecorated the family apartment herself, and was constantly doing things long before others around her even thought about them.

She leaves behind her grandchildren-Peter Kaddis (with wife Jenny), Timothy Kaddis (with wife Alaina), Heba Allen (with husband Jonathan), Mounir Nessim (with wife Laura Smith), Noreen Zaki, and Leila Zaki-as well as great-grandchildren Elijah Lewis, Rebecca Lewis, Margot Nessim, and Nora Kaddis.

Samiha's love, strength, curiosity, and courage will always be remembered. She inspired everyone who knew her-not just by what she said, but by how she lived.

A private service for immediate family will be held on Saturday, August 9th at 4:00 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel, 3481 Hamilton Mill Road, Buford, GA 30519. We are grateful for your love and support during this time and kindly ask for privacy as we gather together.

Dear mom
I love you and I have missed you these past few months. I planned to come see you when my chemotherapy is finished but Lord called you to himself, what a reward to be with Jesus, but I will miss you here so much.
