Sammie Lee Simmons

Sammie L. Simmons bey sunrise began on July 4, 1958 to the late Olin and Myrtle Simmons. At an early age, Sammie and his family moved to Paterson, NJ.
Sammie was educated in the Paterson Public School System and was a graduate of John Kennedy High School.
During the time when trades were needed the most, Sam became a jack of all trades and a master of most. He had a passion for learning and meeting people, which motivated him to learn as many trades as possible.
As a man of chances, he gained the nickname "daredevil" because he demonstrated no fear. He was a man of compassion, and protector of his family. In the early eighties, Sam became known as Eddie Murphy and had a hard time convincing his craving fans that he was not the real Eddie, but accepted all the love, bottles of Moet Champagne, photos, and phone numbers he would receive from his die hard fans.
Sammie L. Simmons bey became a moorish American national on his 61st solar return July 4, 2019. Sam will truly be missed by his children, grandchildren, and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Olin Simmons, Sr., Myrtle (Garland) Simmons, three sisters, Sally Simmons, Mary (Simmons) Washington, Cynthia (Howard McFadden), maternal grandparents; Ervin, Viola (Fullwood) Garland, paternal grandparents; Willie Simmons, and Taska (McClam) Simmons.
Sam leaves to cherish his memory; his children; Tra'Shaune Jones of North Carolina, Lakeia Johnson, LaTrese Johnson, Desha Green (Shadasia), and Dawn Smith all of Paterson, NJ, 18 grandchildren; Aaliyah, Jaheem, Jati, Jyhree, Lazoyah, Maxzorrya, Miriah, NyQuashia, Sanai, Sha'mir, Shamaysha, Shaday, Tydarius, Tyshanna, Zakhira, Zhanasia, 7 great grandchildren;; Amazing, Jeremiah, Josiah, Kamari, Kason, Kingston, and Kior, 3 brothers; Jerome Simmons of Lake City, SC, Olin Simmons el bey (Barbara), of and Willie Simmons, both of Paterson, NJ, 5 sisters; Martha (Rick) Sheffield of Jonesboro, GA, Joyce Simmons of Sunrise, FL, Nicole Fletcher of FL, Stephanie Simmons of East Orange, NJ, Windella (Albert) Canty of Paterson NJ, 2 uncles; Donald Simmons (Barbara), and Charlie Risher of Paterson, NJ, 3 aunts; Carolyn Garland of Paterson, NJ, Thelma Green, and Christine Barrett of FL, 2 special nieces; Candise and Kenya and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other family and friends.
