Sammy Long Obituary
Sammy Long, age 48, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 1, 2024, at his residence in Brownsville, TN. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN with Bro. Jim Hamblin officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
Sammy was born on July 30, 1975, in Memphis, TN to Phillip Long and Sandy Long. He was the proud owner of SCL Electric in Brownsville, TN. He was one who loved life and loved his family. He was a loving husband, dad, son, brother and grandfather. He made everyone laugh, and he never met a stranger. His friends and family often described him as one who would give his shirt off his back to help others. In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors, spending time hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Mandy Long of Brownsville, TN; his son, Sam Long Jr. of Brownsville, TN; his daughter, Chloe Long, of Brownsville, TN; his parents, Phillip and Sandy Long of Millington, TN; his sisters, Niki Long of Millington, TN and Natalie Benham of Millington, TN, and his three amazing grandchildren, Tripp Richardson, Emma Mitchell and Lacey Long.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to the West Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 3099 West Union Rd, Millington, TN 38053. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
