Sammy was the wife of my beloved boss, Jim Scott, editor of The Kansas City Star editorial page, and she was a warm, welcoming and funny hostess to all of us at their home many times. She was so talented and so bright and she and Jim were a wonderful, eclectic couple with many interests they loved to share with others. Her father, Dr. Peete, was a very respected physician and Sammy supported all of his healing efforts. As an individual she was a treat to know. She was also a great mom, a great wife and a great daughter and I'm so glad I had the privilege of knowing her. My condolences to her sons and their families.
