In the twinkling rhythms of life's most joyful songs, we remember Samson "Teddy, Moe, Mozart, Moses, Sam" Dixon. Born on September 2, 1976, in the vibrant city of Washington, District of Columbia, Samson was a symphony of creativity, compassion, reliability, and talent. Samson played his final note on May 9, 2024, leaving behind a melody that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A virtuoso in his own right, Samson was a system administrator by trade and a musician at heart. He was a proud member of various bands, including Side Show, Op Tribe, Lissen Band, and Crank Brothers. As a testament to his incredible talent, he composed a song featured on Dr. Dolittle's soundtrack - Changing Faces' "Do Little Things". Samson's creativity wasn't just confined to his music. He was also an epicure, a debater, an instructor, and a spender, always rejoicing in the simple yet profound pleasures of life. Following in his father's footsteps, he became the second lead musician at Miracle Temple Non-Denominational church, and eventually took his talents to First Love Ministries Community Church, as the director of music, under the leadership of Dr. Robin Vines Randle, Sr Pastor.
Samson's vibrant spirit and dedication were only surpassed by his love for his family, and most importantly for his son, Samson Jr. He was a reliable son to his mother Mattie Dixon, a compassionate father figure to his bonus children, Manika Phillips and William Phillips, a protective brother to Zelda (Joey) Bennett, Gregory Dixon, and Isaiah Jr, a caring uncle to Tiana (Mark) Stewart, Jayson Dixon, Darius Dixon, Egypt Dixon, one great niece (Maranda), 2 great nephews (Austin and Titan), and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Isaiah Dixon Sr.
Please join us in celebrating Samson's life at the visitation on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 10:00am EDT, followed by the homegoing celebration at 11:00am EDT, both at the Not About Me Ministries, 3106 Branch Avenue, Temple Hills, Maryland, 20748. As we bid farewell to our beloved Samson, we hold on to the joyful notes of his life and the beautiful memories he engraved in our hearts. We invite you to share your memories of Samson and upload photos on his memorial page, allowing his melody to continue to resonate within us all.
