Samuel Alegria

Samuel Alegria, 24, of Westmont, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025 at Good Samaritan Hospital following a motorcycle accident. Born on April 12, 2001, in Naperville, Illinois, he was the beloved firstborn of Maria Elena (Mejia) and Jaime Alegria.

Raised in Westmont, Sammy was known for his vibrant spirit and deep passion for cars and motorcycles. After graduating from Westmont High School in 2019, he joined Kubis Auto Body, where he took great pride in his work as a car detailer. Whether working under the hood, attending local car shows, or riding with his friends, Sammy poured his heart into the things he loved. His sense of humor, generous soul, and genuine kindness left a lasting impression oneveryone he met.

Sammy was an adventurer at heart. He had the joy of traveling to Paris, Mexico, and across the United States, always eager to explore new places with those closest to him. A devoted fan of Spider-Man, he built an impressive collection of figurines and memorabilia. He was also a proud
member of a local motorcycle club and enjoyed skateboarding, riding his bike around the neighborhood, gaming, and spending quality time with his family, friends, and dogs.

Sammy is survived by his loving parents, Maria and Jaime Alegria; his younger sister, Hannah; his grandmother, Lucy; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored him.

Sammy's life, though far too short, was filled with love, laughter, and loyalty. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy, fueled by compassion, friendship, and a love of the open road, will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Funeral visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9th, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Divine Savior Catholic Church, 6700 Main Street, Downers Grove, IL 60516. Funeral Mass Thursday at 10:00 am. Interment Clarendon Hills Cemetery in Darien.
