Samuel A. Barto, Sr., 93, of Wernersville, formerly of West Lawn, passed away Saturday, March 1st, at Reading Hospital Tower Health, West Reading.
Samuel was born in Fleetwood on January 14, 1932, a son of the late Lillian C. (Weiser) and Earl O. Barto and was the widower of LaRue A. (Hunsicker) Barto.
He served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal then was employed as a Supervisor at Carpenter Technology, Reading for 38 years retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. John's Reformed Church Sinking Spring,
Samuel is survived by his two sons, Samuel A. Barto, Jr., of Tennessee and Matthew A. Barto, of Colorado. He is also survived by three grandchildren
Services are private. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Corporal, you are now relieved from your post. Sam, you have made your final march down the lonely dusty trail. A job well done fellow veteran. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation“s defender. Farewell fellow veteran.
