Samuel (Sam) J. Boone passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025, at the age of 91. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Sam's life was filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Shirley; his son, Troy (Meribeth); his granddaughter, Eva; his brother, Jerry; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Donna, and his grandson, Trenton.
A proud veteran, Sam served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Following his service, he built a successful career in securities for the phone company, retiring after 35 years. Never one to slow down, he embarked on a second career in real estate, which led to a passion for investing and day trading.
Over the years, Sam and Shirley made homes in Nebraska, Iowa, Lake of the Ozarks, Naples, Florida, and Kansas City, forming lifelong friendships wherever they went.
Sam had a passion for ballroom dancing and loved playing cards with family and friends, especially his grandkids. He also enjoyed grilling out on the deck with a beer in hand, savoring the simple joys of life. Even in his later years, he remained sharp by managing his investments and staying active in the stock market.
At this time, no services are planned, though a celebration of Sam's life may be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to spend time with loved ones or consider making a donation in his honor to Wayside Waifs https://waysidewaifs.org/ or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org/
