Samuel Andrew Bufford, age 75, of Columbiaville went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 15, 2023 at home with family beside him.
Sam was born June 24, 1947 in Heber Springs, Arkansas to the late Dalton and Wincie Bufford. He was a Polio Survivor and served his country honorably in the US Army and was a past EMT & volunteer firefighter for Romulus. Sam attended Lapeer Assembly of God – West, Master Gardeners, Beekeepers Club, Lapeer County Prayer Meeting on Tuesdays, The Prayer Walk at Columbiaville Elementary, Watch Dogs of Davison Schools, and Dads of Great Students. Sam enjoyed beekeeping, gardening, woodworking, landscaping, loved nature, working with children, fairs & amusement parks, candy, and caring for animals.
He operated Play It Again Sam's Party Rental before retiring.
Sam is survived by his wife Margaret, children: Michelle (Mark) Cronk, Shelia (Krystal) Becker, Sammy (Jodi) Bufford, Krista Close, siblings: Angela (Harry) Waldrup, Loretta Yarbro, Danny Bufford, Bill Bufford, Wayne Bufford, Shirley Bufford, Steven (Janice) Bufford, 7 grandchildren: Meghan, Melanie, Samantha, Chase, Sydney, Wesley, Chloe, great-granddaughter Shyann, close friend Bill Mount, and his cats. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Timothy and Kenneth.
Funeral Service 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Jansen Family Funeral Home – Columbiaville, where family and friends can visit 3:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday and 1:00 PM till time of service on Saturday. Pastor Brandon Burger & Pastor Dale Hollin officiating. Memorial contributions in memory of Sam may be made to the Lapeer County Suicide Prevention Network or Disabled American Veterans.
