Patricia was born on November 13th, 1943 and passed away on
March 25th, 2025 at the age of 81Patricia Ann Bufford, affectionately known as Ms. Pat, closed her eyes to the world on the 25th of March, 2025. Born on November 13, 1943, in Harlem New York, NY, the only child of Georgia & Percy Bufford (decreased). Ms. Pat received all of her formal education in the New York city school system. She graduated from Harlem High School.
Patricia spent the majority of her life in Camden, New Jersey, where she moved 51 years ago. She was a dedicated worker in the field of hospitality, with her heart truly invested in nursing and as a lunch aid. Patricia was most known for her tenure at The YMCA, where she served until her retirement in 2011. Her colleagues and friends at the YMCA remember Patricia as someone always ready to lend a helping hand, and her infectious laughter would often fill the hallways, bringing joy to those around her. In the words of Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Patricia was a living testament to this quote, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives through her kindness and compassion.
Ms. Pat was a great child care provider and an Exceptional mother, sister, aunt, great aunt, cousin, grandma, great grandma, and friend to so many people. She was a strong, loyal, and honest women.
Even though Patricia never married, but found fulfillment and joy in raising her two daughters, Marsha Bufford and Serida Ferguson, and two sons Christopher and Troy Bufford who survive her.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Georgia Bufford(decreased). Patricia leaves to cherish her memory: daughter Marsha Bufford, sons Christopher and Troy Bufford, daughter Serida Ferguson. Grandchildren; Seron, Justin, and Christion Mullings, Christopher Bufford Jr. Great grandchild Dakarai Santana, a host of nieces, great neices, nephew's, great nephew's, cousins, and friends.
The love and compassion she carried for her family were immeasurable, and to her daughters and sons, Patricia was not just a mother, but also a friend and a mentor. Her legacy will continue to live on through them, and the many lives she touched. Patricia was a beacon of light and a source of comfort for all who had the pleasure of knowing her. A lifelong devotee to the welfare of others, Patricia was a constant reminder of the adage, "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others."
Patricia's life was a testament to Eleanor Roosevelt's words, "The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experiences." Those who knew Patricia Bufford are encouraged to leave memories and upload photos to the memorial page.
