Samuel G. Clary

Samuel "Sam" Clary,68, of Troy, MO, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 20, 1955 in Kirksville, MO to Delbert and Alma Rosalee (Pinson) Clary. He attended the local schools, along with his sister, Sharon and graduated from Troy Buchanan High School. Sam met Connie (Thompson) at Troy Family Restaurant, where she was working as a waitress. Sam and Connie were united in marriage on June 26, 1982 at Millcreek Baptist Church. To this union were born; Joe and Jamie. Sam was a dedicated maintenance and construction engineer at Lincoln County Court House for over 19 years. He always had a kind word and smile for anyone he encountered. Sam also took excellent care of his "work wives" and made sure they got safely to their cars in bad weather. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren, who referred to him as "Grampy". Some of his hobbies were; fishing, hunting, camping and riding his motorcycle. Sam and Connie were able to go on Alaskan and Hawaiian cruises, when his health permitted. His family describes him as," loving, outgoing, personable and a prankster.
Sam is survived by his loving wife, Connie Clary of Troy, MO, children, Joe Clary of Olympic Valley, CA and Jamie Clary of Wright City, MO, sweet grandchildren, Chase and Emery, nieces and nephews, Christopher (Donna) Malone of Illinois and their children, Andrea, Riley and Noah, Jillian Gallegos of Colorado and her children; Hunter, Tasia and Xander, his sister, Sharon Craft of Arizona, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Richard Thompson and his mother-in-law and father-in-law.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 3:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. at McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory 1304 Boone Street, Troy, MO 63379, 636-528-8244.
Memorial Service - Friday, August 11, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home in Troy. Rev. Bill Haffner to officiate. Inurnment is at Old Alexandria Cemetery, Troy, MO.
