Samuel M. Coffey, born on November 4, 1939, in Montpelier, Kentucky, passed away on November 7, 2024. A resident of Laconia, Indiana, Samuel was known for his love of woodworking, a skill he put to use throughout his employment. Beyond his work, Samuel found great joy in the simplicity of life on the farm and cherished moments spent with his grandchildren.
Samuel is preceded in death by his parents, Sammy and Alta Coffey, his beloved wife, Betty Coffey, his precious daughter, Tonya Coffey, and his son-in-law, Steve Schweitzberger.
Samuel is survived by his sons, James (Teresa) and Richard (Trena) Coffey; his daughter, Tammy Schweitzberger; his sister, Myrtle Whitman; his thirteen adoring grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. His spirit and love continue to live on through his family, who remember him as a compassionate, hardworking, and loving individual.
Visitation will be held at the Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home (318 East Chestnut Street, Corydon, Indiana 47112) on Monday, November 11, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM, and on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM.
The family has requested that memorial donations be sent to Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home to go towards funeral expenses.
We invite those who knew Samuel to share their memories and upload photos to his memorial page. In these shared stories and images, the memory of Samuel Coffey continues to live on, a testament to a life well-lived and a man deeply loved.
