Samuel Woodrow Flanagan, 75, passed away on March 26, 2025, surrounded by his family at St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital, from congestive heart failure complications. Born in Alaska and growing up in several states including Hawaii, Sam settled in Los Angeles as an adult. He served in the Army in 1969-72. Sam married Kathy in 1978 and moved to Camarillo in 1981 to raise his growing family. He was employed in the Aerospace industry before owning and operating Pitti's Pizza and Pasta with Kathy from 1990-95. Sam pursued woodworking as a hobby for many years before becoming a licensed General Contractor, enjoying over 2 decades working on and improving many homes in the area (including many friends and family members!). His favorite hobbies and pastimes included rooting for the Dodgers, traveling, reading, HO model trains, stamp collecting, photography, afternoon naps and genealogy research. Sam recently retired along with his wife Kathy, spending time with their extended family and Franklin the cat whenever possible. Our family enjoyed many holidays, game nights, BBQs and outings together. Sam is preceded in death by his father Woodrow Wilson Flanagan, mother Dora Dorsey Flanagan and his son Keith Anthony Flanagan. He is survived by his wife Kathy of 46 years. He is already missed by his children and grandchildren, including his daughter Kris (Ken), his son Joseph (Jennifer and their children Kyla and Joey), his son Edward (Sheena and their daughter Cleo) and his daughter Kimberly McGuirk (Matthew). Our family will be hosting a remembrance of his life on Saturday April 26th at 11am at the Las Posas Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
