Samuel Ford Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A. on Mar. 9, 2026.
Samuel T. Ford, Jr., a cherished son, devoted father, and beloved brother, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, in Pasadena, Maryland, leaving a profound legacy of love and integrity in the hearts of those who knew him. Born on November 2, 1938, in Ford City, Pennsylvania, Samuel grew into a man of high integrity, dedicating himself to both his professional career and his community.

Samuel proudly served in the U.S. Army, embodying the discipline and commitment that would define his life. A successful banker at Union Trust and Signet banks, he was respected not just for his expertise but also for his exceptional character and unwavering dedication to his work. His influence reached beyond the world of finance, as he became an integral part of the Ferndale Community Club and American Legion Post 276, where he made lasting friendships and positively impacted the lives of many.

In his personal life, Samuel found joy in simple pleasures. He was an avid golfer, relishing every opportunity to hit the greens. He took great pride in cutting his grass, finding peace in the routine of keeping his yard immaculate. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, cherishing the moments spent with loved ones.

Samuel leaves behind his beloved sons, Scott Ford and his wife Marichu, along with Joseph Ford and his wife Diane. He was a proud grandfather to Scott Ford Jr. and Kelly Ford, and a delighted great-grandfather to Zendaya. He is also survived by his dear brother, Ed Ford, who shared many memories and experiences with him throughout their lives.

He is reunited in spirit with those who preceded him, including his beloved wife, Rose H. Ford, whose love remains an enduring presence in Samuel's life story, as well as his sister, Carol Orr, and his parents, Mildred and Samuel Ford. Their memories will forever be treasured by all who were fortunate enough to know them.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Samuel's life will be held on March 18, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A. in Glen Burnie, MD. Following the gathering, a Celebration of Life will occur at 1:00 PM, where family and friends will come together to honor and reflect on the remarkable life Samuel T. Ford, Jr. led.

Samuel's legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will continue to resonate through the lives he touched. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Samuel's name may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake at www.hospicechesapeake.org
