Samuel Dale Frogge, 80, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, October 08, 2024, at Gordon Hospice House following an extended illness. Sam was born in Decatur Co., IN. on March 06, 1944, to the late Marvin William Frogge and Mary Adele Wickens Frogge. He worked at JC Steele & Son for 15 years and was also a dairy farmer. He was the chairman of the Iredell Co. Bee Committee. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one infant son, Scotty Frogge, and one brother, James Hugh Frogge.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Donna Phares Frogge. Two sons, Jim Frogge of Olin, NC, and Todd and wife Jan of TX. One daughter, Samantha West, and husband, Brian of Statesville. Two brothers, John Frogge of IN and Maurice Frogge of FL. Two sisters, Mary McDowell of Key West, FL, and Kathy Shaw of IN. Fourteen grandchildren, Natasha Frogge, Stephanie Pelletier and husband Paul, Lauren Jackson, and husband Michael, Sammy Frogge, Shana Griffee, and husband Sam, Natalie Nino and Sheila Frank, Katrina Faith Lou Frogge, Jimmy Campbell, Patrick West, Matthew West and wife Ashley, Cody Frogge, Jazmyn West, Regina Trinity Dawn Frogge, and ten great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 5:00 pm at Chapman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 5:00 pm at Chapman Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Gordon Hospice House of Iredell Co. ( 2341 Simonton Rd. Statesville, NC 28625).
