Samuel Howard, age 93, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026 at Home. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, and loyal friend to many.

Born in North Carolina September 29, 1932, to Alice and Charlie Howard. Sam lived a life filled with kindness, wisdom, and compassion. He left NC at the age of 21 and moved to New Haven Connecticut working for Winchester (making guns). Leaving CT to lowa in 1960 he began working for the City of Des Moines where he dedicated 19years of his life and retired in 1996. Sam had begun a deeper connection with God and was later baptized in March 1999. Sam enjoyed watching Boxing, Gun Smoke on the 1st TV, Price is Right with his Granddaughter Natasha on the 2nd Tv and his Great grandson Aaron got him hipped to Gold Diggers on YouTube. Sam always enjoyed hosting and cooking for others and didn't mind giving out cooking lessons (He made the BEST Greens and Cornbread).

Sam is survived by his Wife of 37yrs, Claudette Howard, Children; Eugenia & Donna Brooks, Brother; Johnny Howard and Grandkids; Natasha, Vaniechia, Bridget, Benjamin III, Kiyre, Ricki & Dario, a host of Great-grand kids, even living to meet his Great great great granddaughter and a host of Nieces & Nephews.

"Preceded in death by" Daughters; Tammy Howard & Latonyia Brooks, Sons; Sam Jr and Edward, Sisters; Martha & Minni, Brothers; Richard, Willie, Parish & Charles.
