Samuel John Jackson, 64, of Lewistown, passed away at 4:03 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025, at OSU James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on August 27, 1960, a son of the late John Luther Jackson and Mary Ruth (Kaeck) Jackson.
On June 26, 1982, Sam married the love of his life Brenda Lea (Hodge) Jackson in Lakeview, Ohio and she survives, along with their two loving children, Christina (Cody) Kelley, and Bradley (Lindsay) Jackson; five precious grandchildren, Landen Jackson, Christian Kelley, Amelia Jackson, Caleb Kelley, and Cole Kelley; a sister, Beverly K. Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his mother in law Linda Hodge, Uncle Bud Jackson, Aunt Ellen (Phillip) Brenner, Aunt Judith Carr and numerous cousins.
In addition to his parents, Sam was also preceded in death by his brother Thomas E. Jackson, father in law William Hodge and numerous aunts and uncles.
Sam was a 1978 graduate of Indian Lake High School, where he was a loyal member of the FFA Chapter.
Sam shared his love of farming with his family on the Jackson Farm which he spent his life building along with his father, mother, wife and children. He also had a love for the fair and served as a 4-H Advisor. Sam always loved music and spread his love for music to others by running Backdraft Productions along with his wife and son. Sam never knew a stranger, and made many new friends while taking tickets at Indian Lake athletic events. He loved sharing his faith and helping others any way that he could. Sam was an active member of Bellefontaine First Church of God where he served on the security team.
A gathering to celebrate Sam’s life will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Indian Lake High School main gymnasium, 6210 State Route 235 in Lewistown.
The family is asking for guests of the Celebration, to bring written memories or pictures of Sam to be part of a memory album. There will be a table at the Celebration where you can drop the items off.
