Samuel O’Brient Judkins, also known as “Mickey” to those
who knew him best, was born to the late Norman and Victoria
Judkins on May 19, 1946 in Warrenton County, North
Carolina. He entered his eternal rest on Wednesday June 26,
2024 at The Laurels of Bon Air Rehab Facility.
He attended John R. Hawkins High School in Warren County,
North Carolina graduating in 1964 as a tradesman in brick
masonry. He later joined Jordan Chapel Baptist Church of
Henderson, North Carolina. He then moved to Richmond,
Virginia in January of 1965. He worked as a brick mason and
concrete finisher for 40 years and officially retired in 2011.
He enjoyed watching sports, especially football, baseball, and
motorsports. But most of all spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three
brothers: James Edward Judkins, Wilbert Lee Judkins,
Norman Macon Judkins Jr., and one sister; Barbara Ann
Judkins Fields.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory; two sons; Vincent
McDonald Judkins (Janice); Samuel O’Brient Alford (Brandi);
and one daughter; Chasitity Danielle Starks; former wife, Lucy
B. Judkins; special beloved companion, Shirley Ann Lee; 6
grandchildren, 3 great grand-children along with a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends
