Sam was one of my fellow defenders in high school soccer. After graduating, he was such an inspiration in his dedication to improving himself. He would invite me on runs (here´s pictures from when he brought a weighted backpack for trail running at Turkey Run) and I remember on one of them I kept lagging behind him because I was so tired- but at the end of it he told me "next time we run together, you´ll be able to keep up with me."
