Samuel Ryan Malachowski

LCPL Samuel Ryan Malachowski, USMC, 24, of Lafayette passed away unexpectedly on January 31, 2025, at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendelton, California.
He was born November 12, 2000, in Indianapolis to Brian and Toni (Weaver) Malachowski. Samuel was a 2019 graduate of McCutcheon High School, where he was a member of the Boys Soccer Team. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in May 2020.
Samuel enjoyed fishing, playing soccer and getting into all kinds of minor trouble with his friends in Lafayette. Transplanted to Southern California, Samuel spent his free time working out at the gym, soaking up the sun and playing volleyball on the California beaches with his Marine Corps brothers and sisters as well as his friends and colleagues from Goody's Tavern in San Clemente.
Along with his parents, Samuel is survived by his daughter, Nikita Ryan O'Neil; and sister, Rachel (Darian) Hatton. On his mother's side; uncles, Kimmy Weaver and John Spangler; aunt, Patsy (Ernie) Baker; and cousins, Rhonda (Dale) Ashby, Kristy (Brad) Kays and Greg Baker. On his father's side; grandmother, Ann Marie Malachowski; aunt, Elizabeth Drzewiecki, aunt, Sandy (Richard) Lopacki; aunt, Mary (Lawrence) Klein; uncle, Joseph (Regina) Malachowski; aunt, Amy (Kevin) Miller; uncle, Paul (Nicole) Malachowski; cousins, Zachary (Yara) Klein, Sarah Klein, Norah and Garrick Malachowski, as well as his Marine Corps brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Faye Spangler and grandfather, Ronald Malachowski.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Thursday, February 20, 2025, and from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm, Friday, February 21, 2025, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette.
Funeral service will begin with military honors at 1:00 pm, Friday, February 21, 2025, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, with Rev. Kurt Freeman officiating.
A Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
