Elaine (Rufo) Malachowski

Elaine (Rufo) Malachowski 74, of Cranston, passed away Monday January 13, 2025 at RI Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Robert “Bob” Malachowski. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Irene (Martino) Rufo. 

Elaine received her Masters Degree from RI College and was a Reading Specialist for the Coventry School Department for 35 years before retiring. She was a former CCD Teacher and Eucharistic Minister at Holy Apostle’s Church in Cranston.

Besides her husband she was the devoted mother of Matthew Malachowski and his wife Amanda of New Orleans LA and Andrew Malachowski and his wife Bridget of Easton MA; loving grandmother of Robert, Margaret Ann, Eleanor, Maeve, William and Nora Malachowski; and dear cousin of Susan Martin. She was the dear sister of Raymond Rufo and the late Alan Rufo and Carol Ann Rufo.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday January 18, 2025 at 8:45 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave. Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Apostle’s Church, Cranston at 10 am. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting hours are Friday January 17, 2025 from 4 pm – 7 pm.
