Robert J. Malachowski Sr.

Robert J. Malachowski, Sr., 78, of Utica, NY, passed away on February 14, 2026.

In his younger days, Robert was an altar boy at Holy Trinity Church. He could still proudly recite the Latin prayers that he remembered from his youth. He was also a member of the local drum and bugle corps.

Mr. Malachowski spent his entire working life in the field of metallurgy, employed with Kelsey Hayes and Special Metals. He was a proud member of the ASM.

He enjoyed visits with family, watching sitcoms, and making people laugh. His greatest joy was telling jokes and reminiscing about the good old days. He had fond memories of The Beatles, his trip to England with his son, amusement parks, bowling with friends, and going fishing with his work friend Bill.

He is survived by his son, Robert Jr. (his partner Katrina, and mother Sharon); his brothers, Thomas, and Ronald (partner Teddie); his sister, Joanne (partner Keith); and several cherished nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Eleanor Malachowski, as well as several extended family members and friends who he remembered with great affection.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, 6:00 p.m., at Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 40 Main Street, Whitesboro. The family will continue to greet callers following the service, until 7:00 p.m. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery will be private.
