Samuel Manske Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Crown Cremation Services - Tualatin on Oct. 15, 2025.
**Obituary for Sam Manske** Sam Manske, born on July 31, 1939, in Fresno CA, passed away on September 19, 2025, in Hillsboro, Oregon. He lived a life filled with generosity, loyalty, and humor, leaving behind cherished memories for his daughter, Karen Manske, and all who knew him. Sam served in the U.S. Army, working as a lifeguard at the Lewis-McChord Base in WA, and boot-packing race courses at the Squaw Valley Winter Olympics in 1960. Sam later graduated from Fresno State University with a Bachelor's degree in Business. In 1967, he became the first employee of Seattle Packaging, where he played a pivotal role in setting up and managing the company's Portland and Beaverton offices. His dedication and expertise also contributed to the establishment of the Spokane office. Sam retired around 1989, having made significant contributions to the industry through his unwavering commitment to excellence. In his younger years, Sam was an avid swimmer and lifeguard, embodying the spirit of adventure throughout his life. He was a passionate pilot, often sharing the joy of flying with friends and local children, a passion he pursued until tragedy struck with the loss of a close friend in a plane crash. Despite this, he continued to explore other interests, including attending the Reno Air Races and visiting the Evergreen Air and Space Museum in McMinnville, Oregon. Golf and skiing also brought him immense joy, and he could often be found working out or running early in the mornings. A Celebration of Life for Sam will be held at McMenamins' Grand Lodge in Forest Grove, Oregon, in the Summer of 2026, with the specific date and time to be determined. While he will be deeply missed, Sam Manske's legacy of generosity and laughter will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His story is one of dedication, adventure, and a spirit that resonated with everyone around him. Family and friends are invited to share their condolences and memories as they honor a remarkable man who touched so many lives.
