Evans Mills – Samuel Cierre John McCourt, 32, residing at 26402 Golden Drive, passed away peacefully in his home on December 30, 2025.
Samuel was born on March 4, 1993, in Philadelphia, PA, to Arlene Johnson Howard. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Army, serving from January 2013 to December 2019 and achieving the rank of Sergeant.
After leaving the service, Samuel chose to remain in the North Country. He held various jobs, including positions at Bradley’s Military Surplus, Evans Mills, and Pepsi Beverages Co., Bradley St., Watertown. He considered himself a homebody, cherishing time with his son, Cierre John. Samuel was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and was loved by all who had the privilege to meet him.
He is survived by his partner and the mother of his children, Makayla Lincoln; their son, Cierre John McCourt, and an expected daughter. Also surviving are a sister, Alexa Herring and his aunts, Angela, Arla, and Lisa, and his uncles, Mark and Kennedy, along with his father figure, David Perry, who treated him like a son.
His mother, Arlene, died in 2017, and he was also preceded in death by his sister, Cierra.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM in the Funeral Home chapel, officiated by Rev. Canon Samuel P. Lundy. Online condolences can be sent at www.lundyfuneralhome.com.
Services will also take place at the DeBaptiste Funeral Home in West Chester, PA, at a date to be announced, followed by interment with Military Honors.
