Samuel Moore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by E. F. Boyd & Son Funeral Home on Aug. 4, 2023.
Samuel L. Moore, affectionately know as Sam, was born in Tuskegee, Alabama, on October 3rd 1936 to the late Suzie and Daniel Moore. He was the youngest of 12 siblings. He moved to Cleveland at the age of 18 years old. He accepted Christ at an early age. Sam was united in holy matrimony to Marion L. Johnson on April 14th 1956. She preceded him in death after 55 years of marriage.
To this union there were four children, Deborah Moore, Patricia Aldridge (Rodney), and two sons that preceded him in death. Samuel Moore Jr., and Michael Moore. Sam was a provider for his family always working to make sure his family had what they needed. He was employed at Ford Motor Company and also owned a bar and a beverage store. He and his wife affectionately known as Ya Ya, would love to have people over, eating, dancing, and listening to the blues. Many people may not know this but Sam was very funny without even knowing it; and would keep you laughing.
He was a member of the I.P.B.O.E. OF W. He also enjoyed traveling and going to the YMCA for what he called his workout (smile). He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. Michael, affectionately known as Dink who he thought could fix anything, and George who he would say was his body guard. Him and his only granddaughter Jasmine who he called "Jazzy Lady" loved to just sit at the table, talk, laugh and watch Family Feud, For My Man, Fatal Attraction and Cheaters together. Jasmine would always say Grandpa is a "character". Also his grandson Sam who he enjoyed spending quality time with.
Let's not forget his daughter Patty who he affectionately called Baby Girl, Boss or Doc. He looked forward to just sitting and talking about any and everything. When he was able to get out more he liked for her to go shopping with him because they both loved clothes and shoes. His daughter Deborah who he would call "Big Deb". And his Son in Law Rodney who he always called "Ron", whom he looked forward to going to the car show with to see the old cars. Also Karen who would always call to check to see if he needed anything.
Sam departed this world on Saturday July 29th, 2023 in his home. He leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters, Deborah Moore and Patricia Aldridge (Rodney), four grandchildren, Michael Moore (Karen), Samuel L. Moore III, George Hannett, Jasmine Seals. Seven great grandchildren Cortez Thomas, Michael Moore Jr., Jurnee Moore, Gabrielle Hannett, Marion Moore, Grace Hannett, and Da'Michael Moore; and two great great grandchildren, Cortez Thomas Jr. and Cain Thomas. One sister Odell Moore, two sisters in law who loved him dearly Joyce Bradford (Richard), Shirlie Morton (Kenny) and a host of family and friends.

Dear Family,

I just learned of Sammy's passing. You have my deepest sympathies. Uncle Sammy was my mom's, Winnie Robinson, younger brother. I wish I could be at the funeral to share your loss, our loss, in person. I pray that you hold on to God's unchanging hands and let the memories of Sammy help you get through the coming days, weeks and years. May God Bless you,
