Samuel John Moore

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Samuel John Moore, who departed this life on March 5, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on October 5, 1941, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Samuel was a man whose life was defined by his devotion to the people he loved.

Throughout his life, Samuel's greatest joy was found in the company of his family. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, whether gathered around a table, sharing stories, or simply being together. His warmth, laughter, and gentle spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He was a steadfast presence - a devoted husband, father, and family man in the truest sense of the word.

Samuel's life was made all the more beautiful when he met the love of his life, Barbara, in 1975 at the Cedar Lounge in Houston, Texas. Their meeting sparked a love that would become the very heart of their family - a bond filled with tenderness, laughter, and unwavering devotion that endured throughout the years.

Samuel was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara, whose absence he carried with him always and with whom he is now forever reunited.

He is survived by his 2 daughters, Lynette Zorn and son-in-law Craig Zorn of Harper, Texas, and Danette Legg-Roberts of Waynesboro, Mississippi; his 2 sons, Bryan Legg and Bryan Legg Jr. of Highlands, Texas; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. His memory will be forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Though his physical presence will be deeply missed, the legacy he leaves behind - one of love, family, and togetherness - will endure in the hearts of all who were blessed to call him family.
