Samuel Dunn Bogle, fondly known as "Buddy," went home to be with his loving Heavenly Father on September 18, 2025, at the age of 87. He was surrounded by his wife and family.

Born on August 19, 1938, in Somerset, Kentucky, to Hazel (Tarter) and Lewis Bogle, Buddy faithfully served his country in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Midway. After returning home, he met the love of his life, Mary Sue (Massey) Bogle, known by friends and family simply as "Sue." They married on September 19, 1960, and eventually settled in Matthews, Indiana. Their union was blessed with five children, fifteen grandchildren, and thirty-one great-grandchildren, each of whom brought Buddy great joy.

After retiring from the Chevrolet Plant in Muncie, Indiana, Buddy enjoyed watching Westerns, painting landscapes, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A consummate handyman, he remodeled each of the family homes and even built a small house from the ground up in Jamestown, Kentucky. Buddy and Sue were members of Temple Baptist Church, Muncie, and they also attended services at First Community Church in Matthews.

Buddy is survived by his wife Sue; daughters Karla (David) Horner and Jennifer (Jeff) Wagner; sons Mike (Tina), Gary (Julie), and Jeff (Mary Jane) Bogle; along with his 15 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will remember him fondly, in addition to his brother Donnie (Donna) Bogle and sisters Barb (Bill) Richardson and Janice Leigh. Buddy was preceded in death by parents Hazel and Lewis, brothers Jerry and Frank, sister Sue (Bogle) Stringer, and brother-in-law Vern Stringer.

Services will be held Friday, September 26, 2025, at 1 p.m. at First Community Church, 131 W. 7th Street, Matthews, Indiana, with visitations on Thursday, September 25, from 5-6 p.m., and again Friday preceding the service from 12-1 p.m. Donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in his name.
