Samuel Solamon Obituary
July 5, 2023
Samuel "Toody" Solamon, 87, of Camillus, passed away Wednesday at Auburn Community Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of North High School. Toody was a machine operator for Prestolite Electric for over 30 years, then a driver for Romano Car Dealership for eight years. A communicant of St. Daniel's Church, he enjoyed dancing, golfing, camping, and boating. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Toody was predeceased by his wife, the former Mary Tierney; parents, Michael and Rose Solamon; and step-son, James Tierney II.
The family would like to thank Yolanda and Lisa Fero for their loving care and compassion given towards Toody.
Surviving are his son, Michael (Kristyn) of Camillus; daughters, Maureen (Carl) Mahar of Central Square, and Dawn Solamon of Syracuse; companion, Yolanda Fero; grandchildren, Michael-Paul, Brian, Andrew, Rich, Samantha, Joshua, CJ, and Jason; seven great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Patti Tierney of Syracuse; step-granddaughter, Nicole; and one step-great-grandson.
Relatives and friends may call Saturday, July 8 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home.
Toody will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to one's favorite charity.

So very sorry to have Just learned of Toody´s passing moments ago. So many memories shared with my dad, Nick DeFio and looking thru their highschool pics - the two of them and John had a lot of laughs. The two will have a good ole time reconnecting again. Our deepest sympathies to the family and all who knew him.
