His efforts left a lasting impact on countless students, families, and colleagues over the decades.

Beyond his professional life, Sam was an avid hunter and golfer, and he took great pride in being a lifelong New York Yankees fan. These passions brought him joy and friendships that enriched his life.

He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, his late wife Judy's children Lisa (Tim) Deluca of Erie and Ronald Ross Jr. of Houston, TX, along with his extended family members who will cherish his memory.

Dear Sandy, Timmy, Patrick and Brian,
I am so sorry to hear of Sam's passing. I have some great memories of him and my husband, Frank. He had one of the best laughs and a great sense of humor. It was always a great deal of fun and laughter when we got together. I know how difficult it is to lose someone you care so much about; but always remember those cherished memories you have and how much he loved you.
