Samuel Arthur Whitis

Samuel Arthur Whitis, 84, of Boaz passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at his residence.

Mr. Whitis worked for General Tire & Rubber Co. for 32 years and was a member of Grace Episcopal Church of Paducah.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lucretia Whitis of Boaz; two daughters, Dawn Ramage (Davant) of Boaz and Robin Sullivan (Eddie) of Boaz; one brother, Alvie Whitis (Peggy) of Boaz; two sisters, Norma Lane (R.T.) of Lone Oak and Nancy Davidson (Palmer) of Boaz; five grandchildren, Alaina Ramage, Austin Ramage (Kaler), Alex Ramage, Andrew Sullivan (Shyanne), and Aaron Sullivan (Anna); one great grandchild, Sol David Sullivan-Gusman; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvie W. and Mary Lou (Boaz) Whitis; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Hughes Funeral Home in Paducah with Rector Charles Uhlik officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Boaz.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to service time Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
