Obituary
Samuel Edward (Sam) Williams, 67, of Hagerstown, MD, was taken from us by cardiac arrest early Sunday Morning, February 26, 2023.
Born June 17, 1955, in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Frederick E. and Francis L. (Diehl) Williams.
As a very young boy, Sam loved to "tinker." He was quick with things apart and rebuild, especially developing his skills as a mechanic, working on cars, trucks, engines, and transmissions.
After graduating from North High School, Sam extended his mechanics to bigger trucks and began driving dump trucks, eventually forming his own hauling company, D,K, Hauling.
Sam's favorite spot was in his shop with his dog, Shadow, by his side. His big heart made it difficult for him to say "no." When a friend would "stop in" with vehicle problems, Sam's words were "Pull it in the shop and we'll see what we can do."
He is survived by his son, Samuel E. Williams, Jr., granddaughters, Maidson, Meghan, Mekenna Williams, great-grandson, Da'Kari Redman, sister, Nancy L. Koontz (Ron) of Clear Spring, MD, niece, Marcia Rudolph, and nephews, Scott Rudolph, Mike, Steven, and Bryan Koontz.
Sam was preceded in death by his brother, Grover Delbert Rudolph, and sis-in-law, Connie (Fager) Rudolph.
A Viewing for Sam will be Sunday, March 5, 2023, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave, Smithsburg, MD, 21783, and A Graveside Service will be held the following day, Monday, March 6, 2023, at 10:00 am, at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD, officiated by Pastor Chad Carter.
