Thinking of Sam (and his family) on his birthday.

Sam was just a few years older than me, and when we were young, we would play with Legos together. I will always remember that time we spent together.

When we were little, we would explore the woods behind the Nugent´s house. We would play hide and seek and tag. I remember leaving the younger siblings out because we thought we were too cool for them. I remember ice cream on a hot pool day.

A few years ago, the Nugent family came to stay at our house for about two weeks, all of the kids were going swimming and every time we did this, sam would always ask to do some type of competition, and me being very competitive always said yes. Although he pretty much always won, we always had fun doing it and would never make me feel bad about it, and for that I am grateful.

Sam was my best friend growing up. After he moved across the country, I only got to see him one more time, when they came to visit my family for a couple weeks. I miss him terribly and he had such a kind and friendly heart. Because of him, i learned to be friendly to others (I learned this when I was very very young because I grew up with sam). I will never forget him, he was my best friend. And I truly believe that God rescued him from his sufferings and that Sam is now at peace and sitting with God in heaven.

I met Sam on a cruise a year ago. He is such a kind heart and he will be missed by many. He made a huge impact on me even though I lived in another state. (Texas) I would love to just give him and his family a huge hug right now.

I remember you being one of my very few friends during 7th grade and how often we would talk about the most random thinks and it´s hard to say goodbye but I think of you a lot and I will really miss you
