Samuel "Sam" Young, born on September 14, 1946, in Bedford, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, in Annapolis, Maryland. He was the beloved husband of 51 years of Deborah (nee Martz) Young; loving father of Christopher Young and his wife Lisa and Jennifer Agel and her husband Robert; cherished grandfather of Veronica Young, Conner Agel, Emma Agel, and Sawyer Agel; dear brother of Martin Young; also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law.
Sam was a proud United States Army Veteran, having served in Korea. Throughout his life, he embraced every moment with a spirit that resonated with adventure and love for the outdoors. He found great joy in crabbing and fishing, passions he cherished passing on to his children and grandchildren and they in turn can fondly remember crabbing each family vacation. Sam shared a wonderful life, recently on Kent Island, with his beloved wife, enjoying the tranquility of retirement. While he loved the water and spending time in Ocean City, Maryland, he could always be found seeking the thrill of travel whether it be to support his Ravens and Orioles, spending Sunday at a different NASCAR track, or hunting down model train displays especially at Christmastime.
